An Introduction to the Foundation

The Canadian Hospitality Foundation is Canada's largest industry-driven source of scholarships for students pursuing education and training for careers in the foodservice-hospitality industry. It raises funds for scholarships and acts as a clearing-house for their promotion, administration and processing.

The Foundation also serves as a vehicle for foodservice-hospitality corporations to invest in the future of their industry through their support of its scholarship program. The Foundation seeks to ensure that bright and deserving young men and women do not have to shelve their dreams of a college or university education for lack of financial resources.

The Foundation was established in 1962 by the Canadian Restaurant Association (now the Canadian Restaurant & Foodservices Association) and is guided by a board of directors made up of senior executives from the foodservice-hospitality industry, the supplier sector and educators. It has been administered by the Ontario Hostelry Institute since November 1993.
